conquest

Last weekend, I Puni-napped and the two of us tore up the town. We, along with the roomamte, finagled our way into Toro for dinner without a reservation (really just because we're so freaking cute). So we ordered a bunch of tapas, needless to say the food that we got was great--not so much the service. The server forgot both my main dish and just ignored my request about dessert. After the second mishap, I complained to the owner (whoops!) and ended up getting $25.00 gift certificate out of the deal. The high point of dinner was when a man at another table yelled out, "GENTLEMENT START YOUR LIVERS! DRINK AND BE MERRY!" Classic.

After dinner we went home, pre-gamed at home, then went down to Fat Bob's for trivia. It was a good time...except that Puni got spilled on my Corey's little brother! lol. In lieu of the spillage, we got free drinks. After a few rounds, we headed to 67 West. The roommate went home at this point and Puni and I went on to cause some trouble.

Once at 67 West, we went to hang up our coats...Puni promptly told these boys that it was her birthday, so they asked how old she was. Apparently they must have been underage (not to be confused later with The Minor) because they thought she was '0ld' at 24. So we immediately ditched and went to the back of the bar...where I was fated to meet: The Minor. The minor was super cute and wearing corduroy! lol. he was 23 (or so he said) and we got talking. Eventually he had to leave with one of his friends but he promised he'd be back. We went back inside and ran into Victor and his friends James. James like Puni a WHOLE lot and bought her and me (thanks to her just ordering me one!! LOL) drinks. We then promptly ditched James and just talked to Victor. Annnnnddd....after just a little bit more, we headed to a new bar.

I wanted to show Puni a certain infamous bar...SUB - ZERO....and on our way down the stairs, we heard this man screaming at us, "HEY! HEY! I KNOW YOU!" And I look up and it's the RN's roommate! Oh dear. So Puni and I walk back up and the RN's roommate tells me that: 1. RN had no business dating me in the first place and 2. RN had no business letting it end. so cute and quite frankly it was nice closure to the whole deal. Well, Puni and I left to go to SoHo and...RN's roommate and 'Jamal' followed.

Well, after talking to RN's roommate and Jamal, we decided to ditch and find new boys. Well, I found Dominic and Puni found Eugene "weenie" Carl, the Third. Dominic and I were dancing for a while...good rump shaker. On break from the dance floor, I went to visit Puni and her new boy (who was super cute)...who promptly said something about moving to NC. So I decide to inform him that he was very lucky because he would be down with 'Lowed'---clearly, Eugene had no clue. So he asked Puni "who's Lowed?" Puni then had to confess that we like to speak with fake impediments and that Lored was one of our friends.

Dominic hadn't come straight back, but I didn't want to stalk, so I sent Puni Dominic-hunting. She was successful, found him, he came back....but two seconds later the MINOR showed up! He had somehow found me again, eventhough I moved bars. Well...the Minor had his agenda and so did Eugene and the rest, as they say is history. Two boys, two numbers given out, both gals got calls. good work and good night. lol.

p.s. this is the adbridged version.

lost.

You know, graduation is supposed to be exciting. I guess I am a little bit excited, but honestly, it's damned scary! I mean, they are about to thrust me out into a cold and unfeeling world of attorneys who do not have the business to hire the likes of me. It's all a bit unnerving to think that after three short years of studying (not that I want to have more), I will have the lives and futures of my clients in my hands. No wonder freaking attorneys are mainly Type A personalities. We have to be uptight. We must be suspicious. We have asses to cover...especially our own.

Speaking of...ok, today at work I got an email from a very pissed off engineer. Apparently he was upset with the wording of the nondisclosure agreement. Well, I thought he was taking issue with the way I wrote it, but after calling him, he was really just pissed that the other company took so much liberty rewriting the whole thing. Honestly, I know it's so common (cause it happens all the time) for the other company to completely ignore my requests and/or demands, but honestly...when I said it's against flipping company policy to agree to a certain term, it's FLIPPING AGAINST COMPANY POLICY and no cute little lawyer or negotiation games are going to change it. It got me a little bit heated to get this agreement back and have such utterly rediculous conditions be demanded. Clearly the lawyer on the other end has no idea who he/she is dealing with....a third year law student, dammit, who wants some flipping respect!! lol. So I guess I'm going to call the company and yell at them tomorrow. That's gonna be a joy!

After work, I went to a 'job interview', which basically was me meeting up with the 'boss' and him being like 'yeah, can you do this in a week?' Um, yeah...ok, and then he handed me a copycard and was like 'just call me when you're done. I'll pay you cash.' Hm.

Following the non-interview, I met w/D to do some Westlaw prep work. We plastered fun travel mugs for the table day on Monday with a list of prizes to be won. Then, we did some other prep work and just chatted a bunch afterwards. So I drive home from school after everything was all set and I realize that I don't have my keys. I can't believe I flipping lost my keys again. The only self respecting thing to do was to call LB and beg to come over. I then got take out and went over to watch Sex and the City episodes. :) I will spare the details of the rest of the night and the key search. In the end, I still don't have my keys, but my roommate came home so I could get into the apartment. :)

gotta sleep. am hoping to get into work at a reasonable hour with the keys that I hope to find in the library.

random rambles

I'm super excited about this marketing idea I had for the table day this coming Monday for Westlaw. We're giving away free $5 starbucks cards to any student who attends both the statutes class and the caselaw class. So my bright ideas are: 1. D & I have plastered the water bottles with information about the classes, 2. I'm making starbucks coffee for the table and making signs that say "Want a FREE Starbucks card? Ask me how!" I'm excited. I hope it gets people to sign up and go to these trainings. I really like my new boss and I want him to be successful in his position, so I'm trying to go the extra mile for him. Danielle and I spent the afternoon at law school yesterday prepping the water bottles and posting flyers all over school. I have to go get candy today.

That's honestly about the most exciting thing going on in my life. For those who didn't hear, I broke up with the boyfriend, finally. It's for the best and I think it was mutual. So, onto bigger and better things. Not that I ever go out anymore to meet anyone! lol. Honestly, I feel like I've gone out maybe once this semester. Part of it is my tight budgetary constraints, but mostly it's just that my semester is so busy that I have to keep up on my readings over the weekends. What this translates into is me spending my waking weekend hours at Starbucks.

My baby sister got into college this week! It's the first program she's heard back from. I'm very proud of her too, because not only was she admitted, but she got into the Physician's Assistant program! She's super excited because this college was one of her top choices. She's actually up at the school right now, at their 'scholars weekend'. So proud. :) Nice work, little sis!

On a worse note, Spring break isn't looking too good. I didn't get my loans approved until just a few days ago, so i will definitely not be getting the money before spring break. That means, very limited travel. I will probably spent the week doing day trips to Canada and the greater Buffalo area. Anyone who is interested in tagging along, please let me know!!! The only trip that could possible happen at this point is driving down to visit Missouri, but I first must find a travel buddy. If not, then I suppose I could go down to NYC to visit Goodberry and Tracey. :) In any case, as I said before, I am very much looking forward to spring break.

okeedoke. gotta shower and then hit the books!

honestly...

ok for real...I haven't spoken to my father since the end of last year. I haven't written to him, except to pass on pertinent family information and the letter I sent him telling him how I would like our relationship to be and what needs to be fixed....and he hasn't emailed me or talked to me, except to say that he needs space. TODAY, however, he sends me a forward. WHO FREAKING DOES THAT? Honestly....so inappropriate.
