crap

Current place: Westlaw Closet, Law Library

I don't really know where to begin. I guess this semester has been more of a blur than anything. I'm still attempting to keep up on my class readings. I have kind of lost the ability to keep up with the outlines, but I'm doing my best. Classes are great. I wish that's all I had to worry about this semester. I really like the classes, but this job application crap is killing my game. The bottom line is that I talk to the family once a week if I'm lucky. I am becoming rachelle-the-recluse again. This is not supposed to happen this early in the semester, so I apologize to all of you who I cannot call/email/contact.

I may try and go out tomorrow since there's a Phi Alpha Delta bar night. Although I don't like those bar nights usually, it could be worth it and God knows I need a break from this week. Replacing sleep with bar nights...probably not my best idea.

Um, seriously that's all there is unless people want to hear about my readings. I have no life...not yet at least. Perhaps after I'm done with applications.

whoa...

Friends,

Last night was interesting. Cutuly and Mills do throw some pretty kickass parties. It was a good time had by all. First and foremost, the best part of the night was learning that the Red Sox won. Shawn came in and feebly stated that he "didn't want to hear anything about the game" and we may have won, but he didn't want to discuss it. Ha. I didn't even know before he told me. ha. Go Sox! Today's game was not nearly as good, but we'll get to that in a bit.

Also, last night some trades were made and new talents were scouted, as a matter of speaking. A recent acquisition was put on the permanant DL. He is no longer worth my time. He has been traded to the Yanks. The good news is where one talents leaves, two more were scouted. One has more potential that the other, but we'll take both. If you want more information than that, you'll have to ask.

Back to the Sox...so before the game, I was rather impressed with the intro. Because the Star Wars trilogy comes out tonight on DVD, they did this really funny storyline that analogized the Sox and Yanks to the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire, respectively. It was sooooo funny. The best part of the whole intro, however, was when they showed a clip of Johnny Damon, then showed a Princess Leah clip where she said, "Will somebody get this walking carpet out of my way?!"--this being in reference to Chewy. After that, they showed another picture of Damon (looking particularly scruffy)! It made me laugh.

toujours travailler, toujours.

I think this semester is going to be the most overwhelming semester of my life. I have composed a list of almost 100 potential employers and need to send them all resumes and cover letters as soon as possible. I met with career services, which availed some of my concerns. Still, this is a daunting task.

I'm glad the weekend is almost here. Cutuly's party is tonight. That should be fun. It's always a good time with Cutuly and Mills... Saturday I am going to watch Lisa's rugby game. I'm thinking about joining her team. She always has a lot of fun and I miss playing competitive sports. Plus, I hope this will keep my motivated in my running goals. Ok ok...so Juliana just informed me over IM that she played for BU. How did I not know this? More...the question is who has two friends who play rugby?? Amazing...You learn something new every day.

Rachellian Philosophy

Ok so I'm giong to attempt to do this blog on a regular basis. So, to update...I'm back in Buffalo. I've started my second year at UB Law. It's crazy already and life necessities such as eating and sleeping have become secondary already. I have replaced food with coffee and sleeping with workouts. Very healthy start to the new year.

This semester's torture includes the following categories:
  • Administrative Law
  • Introduction to Health Care
  • Seminar in Bioethics: Defining Vulnerability
  • Evidence
  • Intellectual Property

So far so good, except concerning Ad Law. That class, without a doubt, makes pulling my hair out one strand at a time, look like a good time. My other classes are at least interesting and most of them are a good time.

At the moment I am at Starbucks, working on writing several cover letters. Hopefully someone will hire and pay me next summer. Pray people. Pray.

I should really get back to work....
