why me?
Last Saturday, I had made plans with Lisa B to go to dinner and then out with more friends downtown.. Good thing I did. Saturday around 4:45 I received a very interesting phone call. I usually don't pick up my phone unless I know who is calling, but I figured 'eh, why not answer?" Well, this story is just reenforcing the behavior of not answering calls I don't recognize. I pick up and the man on the other end says, "hi this is michael and I was wondering if you'd like to come down to Spot coffee and play magick with me and my friends." I have no idea who this is or why he's asking me to play magick. So, I respond, "I'm sorry, but who is this? How do I know you?" He says, "Oh, it's Michael, you met me at your roommate's office Chistmas party. It's tweak." Then I realized it was the nice boy who I was not at all interested in. Oh man, so I politely declined his offer, telling him about my plans with LIsa and 'thanked him anyway'. Then, I realized I hadn't ever given him my number, nor would I have ever given him my number, because I wouldn't want him calling me. So, my roommate was questioned; she didn't give it to him. I had given my number to two of her co-workers: one for the purposes of possibly getting together with on NYE, since he was going to be in Boston and wasn't familiar w/the area (I was trying to be nice and play tourguide) and the other one I gave because I would actually hang out with him. In the end, it's a mystery how this third guy got my number. I'm not a fan. I thought seriously of calling him back and being like 'um, excuse me, but how did you get my number because I most specifically remmeber not giving it to you. First, you didn't ask and second, I wouldn't have given it to you anyway.' Seriously, who does that? whatever, I just hope he doesn't call again. OH, another thing, the roommate told this dude that I have a boyfriend and he still called. Furthermore, who does that???
Well friends, I felt badly, but I realize the lesson here is: call back and scold. ;)
