sluggish start
Today, like most days, I did not want to get up early. What made me more disgruntled was that my new CD player is going to be a pain in the butt to pick up. So, because I am at school a million hours a day, unlike most normal people, I can't be home during the day to wait for the package to be delivered by UPS. After the second time they tried to deliver it I called them and explained this. Well, I had the option of picking it up on Bailey Ave, or letting the deliveryperson leave this package on my porch, in completely plain sight. Since I know where Bailey is, I figured that would be the best option. So today, I get up all early and drive over the Bailey Ave. just to realize that it is a million miles in the opposite direction of school; needless to say, I still do not have my CD player and have to pick it up this afternoon. Man I'm heated. Whatever. Damn you UPS being out in the ghetto part of town.
Other than that, I highly recommend that everyone pick up a copy of Gavin Degraw's CD, or at least visit his website: www.gavindegraw.com. Unbeknownst to him, he is my SBF.
Totally jumping subjects, last night I watched a really interesting NOVA episode. It was on the history of "death stars"--huge dying stars that result in black holes and very powerful gamma ray bursts. Sometimes I think I should go back to school to study astrophysics. I really find all that fascinating. I really think it's such an amazing field in a philosophical sense, as well. I mean as advanced as we think we are, there still are pretty amazing paradigm shifts in that field, that happen pretty often for a science. This indicates to me that we don't have a good working paradigm yet for that field. I definitely think I need to go back to school for some physics classes, so that I can understand this a little better.
Speaking of school, school has taken over my social life for the weekend. My plans include studying, reading, writing cover letters and researching for my papers. Should get on that....
